Sheldon High School offers four Academy Programs in which students may become involved. Academies are built upon inter-disciplinary curriculum in a focused job career area. The purpose of the Academies is to help students excel through rigorous courses and introduce them to career options and paths. Academy Programs are structured so that participating students explore areas of study in a deeper way while developing their talents and skills as they explore a career choice and the world of work. Sheldon High School sponsors four Academy Programs : ARTSwork, Biotech, Engineering and Building Trades, and EQUITAS (government and public service). Acceptance to one of these programs involves an application process, including both the submission of a written application and an on-site interview. Current 8th and 9th grade students may apply. Academy applications are available beginning Tuesday, October 27th on this page and in the Sheldon High School Counseling Office. Applications must be submitted by Monday, November 30th in the Sheldon High Counseling Office or Smedberg's Front Office. Interviews and acceptance take place in January. Specific dates are posted in the applications.
PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL BE CONSIDERED BASED ON ACADEMY SPACE AVAILABILITY.
